Chickpeas are a versatile legume, commonly used in falafel or hummus. When ground and crushed the resultant flour is known as Gram Flour or Chana Dahl.

Additionally, chickpea brine or 'aquafaba' - the viscous water in which the legumes have been cooked - can be used as an effective egg-white replacement for vegan-friendly baking such as meringues, macarons, marshmallow and ice cream.
