Our delicatessen counter is the heart of the Roots, Fruits & Flowers experience. Step inside and you'll find a colourful display of salads, hot dishes, tarts, quiches and baked goods, all made fresh each morning by our in-store chefs using ingredients from our own wholefoods shop and fruit and vegetable merchant.

This isn't food that's been sitting around. Everything is prepared daily, and the menu changes with the seasons.

What's on the Counter

There's always plenty to choose from. Expect to find hot dishes like curry of the day, salmon and dill fishcakes, and Spanish tortilla. A choice of two freshly made soups. Cold salads include Greek salad, roasted vegetables, and seasonal greens. Savoury tarts and quiches. And freshly baked cakes in flavours ranging from coffee and walnut to cranachan.

Our chefs love to experiment, so there's usually something new to try. If you have a favourite, chances are it'll make a regular appearance.

Eat In or Take Away

You're welcome to eat at our delicatessen. We have seating inside the store and a pavement terrace outside, sheltered by a canopy for those days when the Scottish weather has other ideas. Free WiFi is available if you need to catch up on emails while you eat.

Prefer to take your lunch home or back to the office? Everything from the deli counter is available to take away. As The List once put it: "If you loved your lunch enough, take all its components home and eat it again tomorrow."

Dietary Requirements

We cater well for different diets. There are always vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options on the counter, and our team can talk you through what's suitable. We use quality ingredients and we know exactly what goes into each dish, so just ask if you need guidance.
